# Troubleshooting Synchronizer Install Failures

Many Synchronizer install failures can be resolved through proper whitelisting of ports, domains, and folders and making sure you have sufficient permissions. If you encounter an installation failure, please follow the steps below and attempt the installation again.

# Permissions

Make sure you have sufficient permissions by logging into Windows as admin or running the installer as an administrator.

# Update Microsoft Visual C++

If the installer fails to open, please manually download and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable: <https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe> and reattempt your install.
