# Introduction

> ⚠️ v2.2.2 is deprecated
>
> These docs cover **v2.2.2**, the legacy version of the NexHealth API. New development should target [v3.0.0, the current stable version](https://docs.nexhealth.com/v20240412/reference/introduction). If you are still on v2.2.2, our [Migration Guide: v2.2.2 to v3.0.0](https://docs.nexhealth.com/v20240412/docs/api-v2-to-v20240412-migration-guide) walks through every breaking change with endpoint-by-endpoint instructions for upgrading.

Developers use NexHealth to integrate with dozens of health record systems using a single universal API.

Using the navigation on your left you can view the details for each resource available within the NexHealth Synchronizer API.

> 📘
>
> If this is your first look at the NexHealth Synchronizer API start with our [getting started guide](https://docs.nexhealth.com/v2.2.2/docs/getting-started).

## Accessing the NexHealth Synchronizer API

Create your [NexHealth developer portal account](https://developers.nexhealth.com/signup) and generate your [test API key](https://developers.nexhealth.com/test/api-key).

Once you've setup your account, you can start making requests to `https://nexhealth.info` using a Sandbox account we will create for you.

## Using NexHealth's API with AI coding tools

If you're using Claude code, Cursor, or other AI coding tools, we recommend passing our [OpenAPI spec](https://docs.nexhealth.com/v2.2.2/openapi/nexhealth-api.json) to the agent as context. This will make the coding agent much better at using and integrating with NexHealth's API.
