Communication logs

A communication log is the practice's record of contact with a patient, such as a phone call summary or a text conversation. These endpoints add entries to it.

These endpoints are on v3.1.0 (beta) and are turned on per developer organization. Sandbox keys need the access too; a key without it gets 403 on every call. Email [email protected] to enroll. See Versioning.

• POST /communication_logs works on Open Dental only. Other systems return 422.
• The entry is written to the health record system after the call returns 202. Poll GET /communication_logs/{id} until status is succeeded or failed.
• Entries are append-only. A request that succeeded wrote one entry, so do not resend it. A request that failed wrote nothing; submit a new one.
• The list shows only entries created through the API in the last 30 days (up to 90 with created_since), not entries staff recorded in the system.
