Medical history

Medical history items are the allergies, conditions and medications a practice tracks for a patient. Read the practice's list of items, read a patient's items, or set a patient's items in one call.

These endpoints are on v3.1.0 (beta). Sandbox keys can call it; production keys need access for your organization. See Versioning.

• POST /medical_history/patient_items creates, updates or deactivates items for a patient and sends the change to the health record system. The patient must already exist in the system (foreign_id set); otherwise the call returns 404. A patient NexHealth is still writing to the system is accepted, and the items follow the insert.
• Writes reach Denticon, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and eClinicalWorks. On other systems the call returns empty lists and nothing is written.
• Item IDs come from GET /medical_history/items, which lists what the practice's system knows. An ID the system does not know returns 404.
